Details: The outcome of the match was decided by a single goal early in the second half. Crystal Palace striker Mateta found himself in front of an empty net and tapped home after the goalkeeper had parried the initial effort.

Rayo were unable to respond and suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat. For Crystal Palace, it marks the first European trophy in the club’s history.
