Coco Gauff has captured the prestigious Grand Slam title at Roland Garros, defeating world number one Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling three-set final.

Just a month ago, these rivals clashed in the Madrid Open final, where the Belarusian star emerged victorious. This time, Gauff got her revenge, outplaying her illustrious opponent with authority. The American dropped the opening set in a tense tiebreak, but in the next two sets, she left Sabalenka with no chance—6-2, 6-4.

Remarkably, this was the first French Open final in 12 years to feature the top two players in the WTA rankings. Gauff clinched her maiden clay-court major and secured her second Grand Slam triumph, adding to her US Open victory in 2023.
