For the first time in 1,036 days! Man United star returns
A long-awaited European comeback is taking shape at Old Trafford.
Details: Marcus Rashford has been included in Manchester United's official UEFA Champions League squad for the 2026/27 campaign. His return to United's Champions League list comes 1,036 days after his previous appearance in the tournament for the Red Devils, away to Copenhagen on November 8, 2023.
That night in Denmark ended dramatically for Rashford. The English forward was shown a straight red card in the first half, while Manchester United eventually suffered a 4-3 defeat. It proved to be his final Champions League appearance for his boyhood club before their lengthy absence from Europe's elite competition.
The 1,036-day gap applies specifically to Rashford's Champions League involvement with Manchester United. The winger subsequently spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Barcelona and also featured in the tournament for the Catalan club before returning to Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester United begin their new Champions League campaign at home against Sabah Baku. It is worth noting that Rashford has made three Premier League appearances for United this season, while Transfermarkt currently estimates the 28-year-old's market value at €40 million.
