For sale! Atlético put Sørloth on the transfer market
Atlético Madrid have kicked off a major shake-up in their attacking lineup.
Details: According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Atlético Madrid have officially placed Alexander Sørloth on the transfer list, asking €40 million for the 30-year-old Norwegian striker. Interestingly, Transfermarkt values the player at just €18 million—clearly, the Madrid club are hoping to cash in on a forward who is under contract until 2028.
There’s already a queue forming for the Scandinavian tower: according to the Italian press, Juventus agreed personal terms with Sørloth even before the World Cup, while both Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe are ready to offer him a net salary of €8–10 million per year. Sørloth himself, however, is in no rush to make the move to Turkey. Selling the Norwegian—whom Atlético signed from Villarreal for around €32 million in 2024—would help Los Colchoneros finance the permanent transfer of Nico González, a player Diego Simeone is keen to retain.
Two years ago, Sørloth famously scored four goals in a single match against Real Madrid (4–4), and he’s also the nephew of Jonny Sørloth, the Norwegian international who played for the national team in the 1980s.
