Football loses its most crucial match! Alarming anti-record set in England
English football has received a stark warning that simply cannot be ignored.
Details: The anti-discrimination organization Kick It Out reported that during the 2025/26 season, it received 1,744 reports related to incidents of discrimination. This is a record high and marks a 25% increase compared to the previous year.
The number of complaints has risen across every area of the game. In professional football, the figure jumped by 41% to reach 636 reports, while the same growth in grassroots football led to a record 458 cases.
A further 650 reports were related to online discrimination—5% more than the previous season.
This means the increase has affected every level of English football—from professional club matches to amateur competitions and social media—highlighting the systemic nature of the problem.
It's important to note that racism remains the most common form of discrimination: 792 such reports were registered over the season, accounting for 45% of the total.
