Following McTominay. Napoli wants to sign another Manchester United player
Harry Maguire could leave Manchester United to reunite with Scott McTominay at Napoli. The defender has long been linked with a departure from Old Trafford, and now a concrete suitor has emerged.
Details: According to The Athletic, the Italian club is seeking defenders and is considering Harry Maguire as a potential addition. It’s noted that his performances have caught the eye of Antonio Conte, who wants him to join Napoli next season.
Reminder: Maguire joined United from Leicester in 2019 for a record £80 million, becoming the most expensive defender in history. In the 2024/25 season, he started eight matches and came on as a substitute five times, but coach Ruben Amorim seems to prefer players like Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, and young Lenny Yoro.
Maguire’s contract expires in June 2025, and from January 2025, he will be able to negotiate with other clubs for a pre-contract. This means that Napoli could sign him for free next summer.
