Phil Foden bagged a brace against Leeds, securing victory for Manchester City, and his first goal had just become the fastest of the current Premier League season. The City star needed just 59 seconds, but his record was toppled only a few hours later.
Newcastle opened the scoring against Everton even quicker. A corner at Pickford’s goal turned into a strike in just the 55th second. It was Malick Thiaw who powered a header home from close range after a pinpoint delivery from Lewis Miley, leaving the Toffees stunned.
It’s worth noting that this was the first goal for the 24-year-old German defender in a Magpies shirt. Recall that Thiaw joined Eddie Howe’s squad from Milan in the summer of 2025 for €35 million.
