Floyd Mayweather eyes $700M stake in NFL’s New York Giants
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is looking to become part-owner of the New York Giants, with plans to invest a staggering $700 million, TMZ reports.
Mayweather is working on the proposal alongside real estate mogul Meyer Orbach. Reports suggest that $200 million has already been placed in escrow—a neutral third-party account holding funds while contractual matters are finalized.
"My partners and I are always looking at different opportunities, including ownership of sports teams. I can't comment further than that," Orbach stated.
It’s also believed that another major investor could soon join Mayweather and Orbach in their bid to acquire a stake in the Giants.
If the deal goes through, this would be the most significant financial investment of Mayweather’s career—far exceeding his other ventures. For comparison, his extensive supercar collection is valued at around $20 million.
The New York Giants rank seventh on the list of the world's richest sports franchises, with a total valuation of $7.3 billion.
