Florent Ibenge is expected to be the next manager of the Mali Eagles
He will have to leave Azam FC
An agreement is reported to have been reached between the Congolese manager and the Malian Football Federation.
Mali is looking to appoint a new head coach to lead the Eagles. A call for applications has been issued and a shortlist has been drawn up.
But among the names on the Malian Football Federation’s shortlist, Florent Ibenge is said to be the frontrunner to take charge of the Malian national team.
Ibenge’s experience is a major asset. The Congolese coach has won the African Nations Championship and the CAF Confederation Cup. He has managed the DR Congo Leopards, AS Vita Club, RS Berkane and Al Hilal.
