Flick's incredible squad! Barcelona knocks out Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup match

On January 12, the Spanish Super Cup final took place in Jeddah, where Real Madrid and Barcelona faced off in a thrilling battle for the trophy.

Real Madrid struck first, despite a shaky start. Vinícius Jr. and Mbappé orchestrated a swift counterattack, which the Frenchman finished with precision. However, Barcelona wasted no time responding. Yamal, Raphinha, Balde, and Lewandowski turned the game into a rout before halftime.

At the start of the second half, a demoralized Real conceded yet another goal. Barcelona’s brilliant performance, however, was slightly marred by Wojciech Szczęsny’s red card after he fouled Mbappé outside the penalty area. Rodrigo converted the resulting free kick to pull one back for Real.

The remaining time saw Barcelona controlling the match and comfortably sealing a well-deserved victory. This marked the Catalan club’s 15th Spanish Super Cup win in history.

Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona has now won both El Clásico matchups with a combined scoreline of 9–2.
