Flick outraged: Barcelona to file official complaint against La Liga over tough schedule
Football Club Barcelona has announced its intention to file an official complaint with La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) due to what they consider an unfair match schedule set for the first team. This statement followed criticism from the team's head coach, Hansi Flick, who expressed dissatisfaction with the tight schedule of games.
Flick noted that his team is forced to play with minimal recovery time between matches, which negatively affects the players' physical condition and their performances in various tournaments. He emphasized that other European leagues are more flexible with their schedules, especially for teams participating in international competitions.
In the club's official statement, it says: "FC Barcelona has already expressed its disagreement this season with the criteria set by La Liga and the RFEF regarding the dates and kick-off times of the first team's matches. We believe that the Spanish football authorities should be more attentive to teams like ours, who participate in all three competitions in the final part of the season."
Barcelona emphasizes that this issue is not new and requires a review of the approach to scheduling matches to ensure fairer conditions for all teams and to protect the players' interests.
