Flick gave the green light to extend Szczesny's contract

Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, after a series of matches with a slew of conceded goals, apparently managed to prove himself and secure his position in Barcelona's lineup.

Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick has also agreed to extend Wojciech's contract. The new agreement is expected to be for one year, until the summer of 2026.

If the deal is finalized, Barcelona will not be seeking a new goalkeeper this summer, and Inaki Pena will indeed leave Camp Nou. Among the contenders for him is Turkish club Galatasaray, where he has previously played.

Reminder: Barcelona's main goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is expediting his recovery, but until the end of the season, Szczesny will remain the team's number one.
