Flamengo responds to rumored Ronaldo interest

After it became clear that Al Nassr would not participate in the Club World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo was linked with several of the tournament’s contenders. Some clubs have had to address these rumors head-on.
Details: The Portuguese superstar was even linked with Brazil’s Flamengo, but the club’s sporting director, José Boto, made it clear that signing a player solely for one tournament is not in their interest. If Flamengo seeks a player to strengthen the squad, it will be someone who can contribute for the entire season.
Quote: “We are not very positive about bringing in a player just for the Club World Cup, whether we’re talking about Cristiano or any other footballer. We believe such a move wouldn’t have a positive impact on the team. Our goal is to reinforce the squad for the whole season,” Boto stated.
Reminder: Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr expires on June 30, and the Saudi club’s management is making every effort to keep the multiple Ballon d’Or winner on their roster.
