Flamengo Eyes €40m Sale of Wesley and Projects Billion-Reais Revenue in 2025
Flamengo has presented an ambitious financial outlook for 2025, targeting revenues of R$ 1.33 billion (approximately $252 million), according to Lance! and confirmed by ge. During a recent board meeting, the club’s leadership revised its budget forecast and identified key areas of income, including a major potential transfer: the sale of right-back Wesley for €40 million.
Although no official offers have been made yet, Flamengo expects to sell the young full-back for that amount, which would represent around R$ 266 million (approximately $50 million at current rates). The deal is likely to be structured in installments. Consequently, the club adjusted its estimated player sales revenue to €35 million, or R$ 232.8 million (roughly $44 million), an increase from the initial projection of €30 million (R$ 199.6 million, or $38 million).
On the expenditure side, Flamengo also raised its projected transfer spending from €20 million to €25 million this year. Of that amount, €7 million (R$ 43.5 million or $8.2 million) were already spent on Juninho in January. The club did not disclose the signing bonuses for Danilo.
If the figures hold, Flamengo would surpass the billion-reais revenue threshold for the third consecutive year. However, the plan still awaits approval as the investment portion related to the construction of a new stadium has not yet been finalized.
