Kisumu All Stars head coach Charles Bruno has promised to keep the team moving forward, even after the Kisumu County Government withdrew financial support.

Bruno remains focused on upcoming National Super League (NSL) matches, including Sunday’s game against Naivas FC in Machakos. “We are in high spirits and will keep pushing until the last game,” he said.

The former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards defender encouraged his players to stay focused and thanked the fans for their support. “Otenga will fly!” he assured.

Bruno took over as head coach in October 2023 and led the team to a fifth-place finish last season. Currently, they are seventh with 23 points, 11 behind leaders Nairobi United.

Despite the financial setback, Bruno remains committed. “This club has given me joy beyond money,” he said.

The county government announced the funding cut in a letter from Sports Chief Officer Francis Asunah, stating they would no longer finance the club.

Kisumu All Stars last played in the FKF Premier League in 2019/20 before being relegated.
