Five Teams Secure Quarterfinal Spots in Clausura 2025 Five Teams Secure Quarterfinal Spots in Clausura 2025

The Clausura 2025 in El Salvador is heating up as five teams have officially secured their places in the tournament's quarterfinals. According to EFE and El Gráfico, Municipal Limeño became the latest club to qualify after a 3–2 victory over Platense, reaching 24 points — enough to guarantee a top-eight finish regardless of future results.

Limeño joins Luis Ángel Firpo, Alianza, Águila, and Isidro Metapán, all of whom sit atop the standings with 33 points. Firpo currently leads on goal difference after a 1–0 win against Fuerte San Francisco. Alianza, despite losing narrowly to Águila, remains second, while Metapán moved up to fourth following a 3–1 win over FAS, who now sit in seventh place with 19 points.

Platense and Dragón, both with 13 points, still have a shot at qualifying, although their margin for error is slim. Once Deportivo, the reigning champions, find themselves on the brink of elimination with just 7 points after losing to Dragón.

In the race for the golden boot, Jhonatan Urrutia of Platense joined Luis Ángel Firpo’s Styven Vásquez at the top of the scoring chart, both with 8 goals.

With only a few matchdays remaining, the Clausura 2025 regular season is entering a crucial phase where every point could be decisive in the road to the title.
