Five in Five: Díaz Stays Top of Golden Boot Race at AFCON 2025

Real Madrid winger Brahim Díaz tightened his grip on the Golden Boot race at the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations after scoring as hosts Morocco reached the semi-finals.

Díaz found the net in Morocco’s 2-0 quarter-final win over Cameroon in Rabat, coming hours after Senegal edged Mali 1-0. The goal took him to five strikes in five matches, underlining his consistency and growing influence.

He struck before a packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, getting the final touch to Ayoub El Kaabi’s 26th-minute header. Ismael Saibari later sealed the victory.

Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah trail on four goals, while several others sit on three or two. With the semi-finals approaching, Díaz remains the man to catch. Overall still.
