 Five finalists revealed for African Player of the Year award CAF

On Monday, December 16, the African Football Confederation (CAF) will hold the 2024 African Player of the Year award ceremony in Marrakech. This year, CAF made a surprising decision.

Details: Traditionally, CAF announces three finalists, but due to a close distribution of votes this year, the list has been expanded to five contenders.

The nominees are:

  • Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund, Guinea)
  • Achraf Hakimi (PSG, Morocco)
  • Simon Adingra (Brighton, Ivory Coast)
  • Ademola Lookman (Atalanta, Nigeria)
  • Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa)

Additionally, CAF revealed the three nominees for African Coach of the Year:

  • Emerson Fayé (Ivory Coast national team)
  • Sébastien Desabre (DR Congo national team)
  • Hugo Broos (South Africa national team)
