Fisayo Dele Bashiru Returns to Serie A Action in Lazio’s Narrow Defeat to AC Milan

Super Eagles attacking midfielder Fisayo Dele Bashiru made his long-awaited return to Serie A action yesterday, coming on as a 62nd-minute substitute in Lazio’s 1–0 defeat to AC Milan.

The Nigeria international had been out since early September after picking up an injury in the opening minutes of the Derby della Capitale loss to Roma. His spell on the sidelines kept him away from both club and country duties, making his return a welcome boost for Lazio fans and Nigerian supporters alike.

Despite the result, Dele Bashiru’s comeback adds momentum to his season, especially with AFCON 2025 in Morocco fast approaching. Having impressed on the international stage before his injury, he is widely expected to feature in the Super Eagles squad for the tournament next month.
