As expected, Newcastle officially announced their first summer signing today.
The Magpies have secured versatile defender Lloyd Kelly. He left Bournemouth after his contract expired and joined Newcastle as a free agent, signing a five-year deal.
Kelly has been with Bournemouth since the summer of 2019, when he transferred from Bristol City. At 25, he had already captained the Cherries. Overall, Kelly made 141 appearances and scored 3 goals for Bournemouth.
Last season, Newcastle finished seventh in the Premier League but will not compete in European competitions as Manchester United won the FA Cup.
