Liverpool striker Alexander Isak achieved a significant milestone in the 34th round of the Premier League against Crystal Palace (3-1).
The Swede broke the deadlock, bringing his tally of matches where he scored the opening goal to 19 since the start of the 2022/23 season. With this, Isak has drawn level with his teammate Mohamed Salah in this particular stat.
Only two players stand above them: chart-topper Erling Haaland, who has opened the scoring in 37 matches, and Ollie Watkins with 21 such goals.
Remarkably, this was the striker’s first goal in four months. The last time he found the net was back in December against Tottenham, after which he suffered a serious injury just minutes later, only returning to fitness at the start of April.
