Fiorentina Open to Selling Beltrán, River Eyes a Reunion Fiorentina Open to Selling Beltrán, River Eyes a Reunion

Lucas Beltrán’s future at Fiorentina is uncertain, and River Plate is watching closely. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A club is open to selling the Argentine striker for around €10 million after two seasons in which he never fully established himself as the starting No. 9.

Beltrán played 98 matches and scored 16 goals for Fiorentina, but only five of those came in the latest Serie A campaign, where he featured in 33 games. Often deployed behind the main striker, his role never quite matched expectations.

River has long expressed interest in bringing him back and had proposed a loan deal with an option to buy. Now, with Fiorentina willing to negotiate, the Argentine club may attempt a more aggressive move, possibly for a significant share of his rights—though not at the full asking price.

Beltrán’s strongest run in Argentina came in early 2023 under Martín Demichelis, when he scored 16 goals in just seven months and outperformed fellow forwards Miguel Borja and Salomón Rondón. Though Marcelo Gallardo gave him his debut, it was Demichelis who helped him reach his peak form.

A return to Núñez isn’t out of the question, but for now, Beltrán appears more likely to continue his European journey unless River finds a way to close the financial gap.
