Fiorentina has identified the main coach in case Vincenzo Italiano leaves

Fiorentina is having a decent season and, among other things, will continue to compete for the Italian Cup and in the European competitions. They will face Czech side Viktoria Plzeň in the UEFA Conference League semifinals.

The coach of the team, Vincenzo Italiano, has recently been linked with Juventus, who are likely to part ways with their current coach, Massimiliano Allegri. Consequently, attention has turned to Alberto Gilardino in Florence, who has been showing promising results with Genoa.

However, the management of Genoa plans to meet with their head coach to discuss a possible extension of his contract. The club is ready to offer a new agreement until 2026 to retain the coach, whom Fiorentina is interested in. Alberto Gilardino has been leading the "Grifoni" since December 2022, during which time the team returned to Serie A and managed to secure a mid-table position under his leadership.
