The fierce rivals couldn't determine the stronger team in regular time. The game went into extra time with the score at 2-2. United was trailing until the 87th minute when Anthony Martial restored hope for the fans.

Interestingly, this goal marked the winger's first at Old Trafford in 373 days. The last time Anthony scored at his team's home stadium was on March 9, 2023. On that occasion, he contributed to the victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 (4-1).

For the Brazilian, this goal was only his second in 30 matches in the current season. His first goal also came in the FA Cup against Newport in the fourth round.
