Manchester United legend Alex Ferguson is well-known for his long-standing and serious passion for horse racing. The former Red Devils manager boasts an impressive collection of racehorses. And yesterday, his new horse finally clinched its first victory at the Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase in Cheltenham, reports the Daily Mail.

It should be noted that the stallion Caldwell Potter was bought in February last year for an astonishing sum of £630,000. This made it the most expensive horse sold at an open auction.

Initially, Caldwell Potter performed poorly, leading many to question Ferguson's decision to invest so heavily in it. But now, it seems Caldwell Potter is starting to justify the investment.

"I think the jumping won it. What can I say? Great horse, it was a bonus. Winning here last year with two was fantastic and doing it again this year is fantastic. Thank you very much," Ferguson enthusiastically stated in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra.
