London club Chelsea have already identified their leading candidate for the head coach position should Liam Rosenior depart at the end of the season.
Details: According to Topskills Sports UK, the frontrunner is none other than former Blues defender and Atlético Madrid legend Filipe Luís. The ex-Brazil international, who has made an impressive start to his coaching career back home, is seen by Chelsea’s hierarchy as the ideal choice for a long-term project—should they opt for a new direction.

For now, however, Chelsea’s priority remains working with Liam Rosenior. The club insists the board has no immediate plans to part ways with the manager, despite ongoing rumors. Chelsea’s bosses are determined to let Rosenior see out the current campaign before making any final decisions about the coaching staff and assessing the results. Therefore, any change on the touchline can only happen after the season concludes.
Reports suggest Filipe Luís’s name has previously featured on Chelsea’s managerial shortlist. Talks with the Brazilian were put on hold only when Rosenior became the favorite for the job. Now, amid growing uncertainty, those conversations could be reignited.
It’s worth noting that Filipe Luís was only recently dismissed by Flamengo after, according to reports in Brazil, he held talks with the London club.
