Fight breaks out in NBA game! Williams and Alvarado clash during Suns vs. Pelicans
A brawl erupted during the NBA regular season game between Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams and New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado.
Details: The incident ignited as Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado attempted to maneuver around a screen and shoved Suns center Williams in the process, drawing a foul from the officials. After the whistle, Alvarado confronted his opponent, only to be shoved in the back by the Suns big man.
Despite a significant size mismatch—Alvarado stands at 6'0" (183 cm) while Williams towers at 7'1" (216 cm)—it was the Pelicans guard who threw the first punch, landing a shot to his opponent's face.
The referees intervened quickly, separating the players. Both men were ejected following the altercation, but Alvarado could face a lengthy suspension for the intentional punch to Williams' face. Disciplinary measures stemming from the incident will be announced separately.
The game itself ended with a 123-114 victory for Phoenix.
