FIFA's alarming report: only 22% of women's leagues have female coaches
FIFA has released its latest report on the state of women's football worldwide, revealing alarming statistics: only 22% of teams in women's leagues have female coaches.
The organization is striving to create a more inclusive environment and open up more opportunities for women in technical and leadership roles in the sport. Brazil, considered a potential host for the 2027 Women's World Cup, is a key focus of this initiative, as reported by Globo.
The report emphasizes the need for clubs and leagues to provide clear pathways for the training of coaches, referees, and administrative staff. Additionally, it highlights key programs such as FIFA's Women's Football Development Program, which offers funding for technical training, and the Women's Leadership in Football Program, aimed at increasing female representation in leadership positions.
The FIFA report also unveiled other important data on the development of women's football. Only 9% of leagues worldwide use VAR. In terms of officiating, 42% of referees in women's football are women, and FIFA aims to increase this percentage in the coming years.
Reminder: FIFA is considering the possibility of increasing the number of participants in the World Cup to 64 teams. However, this will only be a one-time event. (Змінено)Відновити оригінальну версію
