FIFA Imposes Sanctions on Tunisia’s Football Federation for Non-Compliance
For violating established rules, the Tunisian Football Federation has been penalized by FIFA.
The global football governing body decided to reduce the annual bonus allocated to the Tunisian federation by 20%, a significant financial blow. This penalty comes just days before elections for the new executive office of the federation, which will replace the temporary Settlement Committee that has been handling the country's football affairs.
The former federation administration bears a big portion of the blame for the consequence as it did not put enough pressure on clubs to pay unpaid fines pertaining to coaches and players. FIFA decided to impose financial sanctions on Tunisian football as a result of the previous administration's disregard for the matter in spite of several warnings.
