FIFA breaks the silence! The organization responds to UEFA and CONCACAF boycott

It seems FIFA's plans have changed dramatically.

Details: FIFA has issued an official statement after UEFA and CONCACAF publicly opposed the initiative by the organization's president, Gianni Infantino, regarding the potential sale of shares in FIFA tournament commercial rights to private investors.

The organization emphasized that it respects the concerns raised and intends to continue consultations with all national associations.

“We respect the publicly expressed opinions and concerns and reaffirm our commitment to an open and democratic consultation process. We will continue these consultations to ensure every member association can vote based on the facts,” FIFA’s statement reads.

At the same time, the organization categorically denied claims about possibly selling world football to private investors.

“No one is selling football. FIFA would never even consider such an option,” the statement stressed.

Despite FIFA’s official stance, the situation around the project remains tense. Previously, UEFA and CONCACAF came out against the initiative, voicing concerns over the transparency of the process and the potential involvement of external investors. The further development of events now depends on the positions of other football confederations and the outcome of ongoing consultations.
