Fierce competition! The list of candidates for the 2025 best coach award has been released

The FIFA expert committee has selected seven contenders for the prestigious award.
Details: Today, FIFA’s official page on social network X announced the seven nominees for The Best Award 2025, recognising the world’s top coach in 2025.

The list features both expected heavyweights and some surprising names few anticipated seeing.
Here is the complete list of nominees:
- Luis Enrique (PSG) – clinched Ligue 1, the French Cup, the French Super Cup, and the Champions League in the 2024/25 season.
- Hans-Dieter Flick (Barcelona) – captured the La Liga title, the Spanish Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup.
- Enzo Maresca (Chelsea) – led his team to victory at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
- Arne Slot (Liverpool) – crowned Premier League champion.
- Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) – finished second in the Premier League and guided his side to the Champions League semi-finals.
- Roberto Martínez (Portugal national team) – triumphed in the 2025 UEFA Nations League.
- Javier Aguirre (Mexico national team) – lifted the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup with Mexico.
It is important to note that the selection committee considered coaches’ achievements from August 11, 2024, to August 2, 2025.
Voting will run until November 28 this year, and head coaches of national teams, journalists, as well as fans with a FIFA website account are eligible to take part.
Last year’s award was claimed by the current Brazil national team boss, Carlo Ancelotti.
