Fernando Alonso thanked fans for their support during the Spanish Grand Prix

Aston Martin star Fernando Alonso took to his home circuit in Spain for the latest round of the Grand Prix. After the race, he expressed his gratitude to the fans for their support on his Instagram page.

Alonso, who recently became the official ambassador of the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, welcomed the spectators and thanked them for the unforgettable emotions they brought.

"We gave it our all on the track, and I think we had a great weekend with the fans at the @circuitdebcncat . Thank you all for the support. See you next year for more 🙏❤️," Alonso wrote.

The home circuit proved to be a lucky one for the Spaniard, as he finally managed to score his first points of the current season here. Alonso finished the race in 9th place, which earned him 2 points. In the Formula 1 standings, he currently sits in 18th position.

Oscar Piastri once again emerged victorious at the Spanish Grand Prix, claiming his fifth win of the season. Lando Norris crossed the line in second, while Charles Leclerc took third place.

In the championship standings, Piastri continues to hold the lead, further extending his gap over Norris. Max Verstappen remains third overall.
