Fenerbahçe have reportedly reached an agreement with OGC Nice for the transfer of Ghanaian defender Kojo Oppong.

According to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, the 22-year-old centre-back is set to sign a four-year contract with the Turkish giants once the final details of the transfer are completed.

Oppong’s arrival comes at an important time for Fenerbahçe, who secured their place in the Champions League group stage after a dramatic playoff victory over Lyon.

The Istanbul club overturned a 1-1 draw in the first leg by winning the return fixture 2-1, sealing a 3-2 aggregate triumph and booking their place in Europe’s top club competition.

Oppong joined Nice last summer from Swedish side IF Norrköping and enjoyed a busy first season in France.

The Ghanaian defender made 39 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring once.
