Fecafoot Election: Guibaï Gatama Challenges Samuel Eto’o’s Candidacy

Cameroonian football could be facing another crisis. Guibaï Gatama has requested the invalidation of Samuel Eto’o’s candidacy for the presidency of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot).

In Cameroon, a new power struggle has emerged between Samuel Eto’o and Guibaï Gatama. The journalist has filed a new complaint against Samuel Eto’o’s candidacy for the Fecafoot presidency. In his letter, he asks the FECAFOOT Appeals Committee to annul the incumbent president’s candidacy.

Guibaï Gatama, Director of L’Oeil du Sahel, discusses the conviction in Spain of the former Indomitable Lion for tax fraud. The federation's legal body will now have to examine this request and rule on its admissibility in the coming days.

This is a new battle opening up just days before the FECAFOOT elective General Assembly scheduled for November 29, 2025. Ousted from the Executive Committee, Guibaï Gatama has become a fierce opponent of the FECAFOOT president's vision, whose governance failures he has consistently denounced.
