FC Porto Sends Strong Message Ahead of 2025 Club World Cup Clash with Al Ahly

FC Porto has sent a clear message about Egypt's Al Ahly ahead of their eagerly awaited matchup in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. During the tournament's recent draw in Miami, the two clubs were placed in Group A together with hosts Inter Miami and Brazilian team Palmeiras.

In an interview with the official club website, Jorge Costa, Porto's football director, talked about the challenges that lie ahead. "Our group in the Club World Cup is not simple," Costa said. "We'll play Inter Miami, a local team with a quality roster and a new coach. And there’s also another great team from Egypt, Al Ahly, which many may not know well, but I know it very well. It’s a great club in Africa."

Costa continued, expressing pride in Porto's participation in the tournament. “We are proud to be part of this new competition featuring the 32 best clubs in the world. We value the competition and aim to perform at our best.”

The dates of the competition are June 15–July 13, 2025. As they aim to win the global title, Porto's matchup with Al Ahly may be very important.
