FC Barcelona are keen to secure the future of their young Egyptian player, Hamza Abdelkarim
Signed on a permanent basis this summer following a loan spell from Al Ahly, the young Egyptian striker could be in line for a new contract with the Catalan giants.
FC Barcelona are keen to secure Hamza Abdelkarim’s future as soon as possible after signing him permanently this summer for €1.5 million. According to reports, the Catalan giants are looking to offer the 18-year-old Egyptian international a new contract. Fabrizio Romano reports that FC Barcelona wish to remove the current €15 million release clause in order to better protect their young striker.
Some sources suggest that the Catalan club is considering raising Hamza Abdelkarim’s release clause from €15 million to €150 million.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s revelations, FC Barcelona has already begun discussions with Hamza Abdelkarim and his representatives regarding a new contract with improved terms. However, nothing has yet been agreed between the various parties.
Hamza Abdelkarim wasted no time in making his mark at FC Barcelona this summer. Fielded as the centre-forward during pre-season following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the young Egyptian impressed with 4 goals in 4 pre-season friendlies.
