Fate hangs by a thread! Crystal Palace issue a tough ultimatum to head coach
Crystal Palace head coach Pierre Sage has been given additional time to turn the team’s fortunes around, but the upcoming Premier League clash with Tottenham could be his last in charge.
Details: According to The Guardian, the London club’s hierarchy has decided against dismissing the coach immediately, giving him a chance to halt the team’s alarming run of results. Nevertheless, the board’s patience is rapidly wearing thin: a defeat in the fiercely contested capital derby against Spurs would almost certainly lead to the termination of his contract.
Opinions within the Eagles’ boardroom are sharply divided over the French coach’s future. Some executives are calling for an immediate change of direction and have already drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements, including Thomas Frank, Sean Dyche and Rob Edwards. At the same time, the first-team players continue to back Sage and are ready to fight for their coach on the pitch.
It is worth noting that Crystal Palace currently sit just 17th in the English Premier League table, hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.
