Faris Moumbagna sent to Marseille’s reserve team
Marseille are reportedly disappointed with the Cameroonian centre-forward’s fitness.
According to RMC Sport, Faris Moumbagna has been asked to join the reserve team to regain his fitness, following a performance deemed disappointing against Olympiacos in the Europa League.
This decision is a major blow for the 26-year-old, who must now return to his best form if he is to hope of rejoining the first-team squad. His physical struggles appear to be complicating his situation within the Marseille squad.
Faris Moumbagna’s future at Marseille therefore appears uncertain. The Cameroonian no longer seems to feature in Bruno Genesio’s plans for the rest of the season. Despite a contract running until 2028, a move away could be on the cards during the next transfer window.
This situation comes as the striker has made five Ligue 1 appearances this season. He has failed to score a single goal or provide a single assist.
Faris Moumbagna will therefore need to make the most of this period to regain his rhythm and try to convince the coaching staff to give him another chance. However, his future could be decided during the next transfer window.
