The Panini era is gradually fading into the sunset.

Details: Today it was announced that FIFA’s management has decided to terminate its partnership with the legendary Panini company, which has been producing special limited-edition player cards for the World Cup.

The collaboration between FIFA and Panini lasted nearly 60 years, but starting from 2031 it will come to a definitive end.

Reports indicate that the tradition of releasing these legendary cards won’t disappear; however, from now on, Toops/Fanatics will take over production, and the 2030 World Cup will be the last tournament where Panini releases its iconic cards.

The very first Panini cards produced in collaboration with FIFA appeared way back in 1970. Many fans consider FIFA’s decision a true betrayal of the tournament’s traditions.
