The Foxes are now in search of a new manager.
Details: Today, on social network X, Leicester announced the official dismissal of 48-year-old Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had been at the helm since December 2024.
It is known that Leicester’s management was deeply dissatisfied with the club’s relegation to the Championship, and van Nistelrooy was held responsible for the disastrous season. The coach and the club have mutually agreed to terminate the contract, with van Nistelrooy bidding a warm farewell to the Foxes’ fans:
“I would like to personally thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy, and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club.
I also thank the fans for their support and take this opportunity to wish the club all the best in the future,” said Ruud van Nistelrooy.
During his tenure, the Dutchman led Leicester in 27 matches, celebrating victory on only five occasions. Such a record saw the former Premier League champions drop out of the top flight, delivering a severe blow to the club’s image.
