FAR Rabat Gears Up for Decisive Clash Against Sundowns
Prior to their travel to South Africa, where they will play Mamelodi Sundowns in the last round of the CAF Champions League group stage on Sunday, FAR Rabat has finished its last training session at the military sports complex.
The Moroccan club currently tops Group B with 9 points and has already secured a quarter-final berth, regardless of the result against Sundowns. The South African side sits second with 8 points, three ahead of Raja Casablanca in third. Meanwhile, Maniema Union of DR Congo lags at the bottom with 3 points.
Assistant coach Jamil Benouahi led the training in the absence of French head coach Hubert Velud, who is recovering from ankle surgery. FAR Rabat will be without defender Hatim Essaouabi due to injury.
The club's only goal is to uphold Moroccan football and solidify their place at the top, according to a source who dismissed speculations of outside incentives connected to Raja's fate. To move on to the next round, Raja has to defeat Maniema Union by three goals and Sundowns lose against FAR Rabat.
