The Croatian national team has qualified for the 2026 World Cup and has now announced its squad for the tournament, with a legendary name included.
Details: It has been confirmed that midfielder Luka Modrić will travel to the 2026 World Cup — his fifth appearance at the tournament. The 40-year-old will have another chance to achieve a major result on the world stage.
Modrić helped Croatia reach the World Cup final in 2018, where they lost 5–2, and four years later, in 2022, Croatia finished in third place after losing in the semi-finals but defeating Morocco in the third-place playoff.
It is also worth noting that there is a wave of optimism within the Spain camp regarding the health of one of their brightest stars.
As a reminder: Just a few months before the start of the World Cup, organisers have faced an unwanted issue. The Azteca Stadium, which is set to host the opening match of the tournament as well as several other World Cup games, has been the subject of concerning reports.
