Ajax, which is having a disappointing season, continues its search for a new head coach for the next season.

As reported by Sky Sports, the club's leadership has chosen former Brighton and Chelsea head coach Graham Potter. Ajax's bosses highly value Potter's ability to work with young footballers and nurture new talents.

However, after initial negotiations, Potter rejected Ajax's offer. Working in a top league is a priority for the English coach.

Earlier reports mentioned that Ajax is also considering inviting Barcelona's current head coach, Xavi.

It's worth noting that during the current season, Ajax has been led by John van 't Schip. However, he has already announced that he will leave the club after the season ends.

Over the weekend, Ajax suffered its biggest defeat of the season, losing 0-6 to Feyenoord. After 29 Eredivisie rounds, Ajax is currently in sixth place and risks missing out on European competitions next season.
