Falconets Eye Ibadan Advantage Against Senegal
Nigeria’s Falconets will host Senegal in the first leg of their third-round FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier on Saturday, 7 February, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. The return leg is scheduled for 14 February in Dakar, with the aggregate winner moving closer to the Poland 2026 finals.
Head coach Moses Aduku says the team is in good shape after weeks of intensive preparation, with all invited players in camp. The technical crew has focused on team shape, movement, attacking patterns and defensive organisation.
Aduku brings experience from the 2022 World Cup, where Nigeria reached the quarter-finals, and hopes to build on the Falconets’ rich history in the competition. Nigeria have qualified for every edition, finishing runners-up in 2010 and 2014.
The Falconets advanced past Rwanda, while Senegal defeated Algeria.
