Gianni Infantino is at risk of losing his position due to a controversial decision.

Details: According to L'Équipe, FIFA President Gianni Infantino could be suspended from his post following a complaint by the organization FairSquare, which accuses Infantino of breaching FIFA's obligation to maintain political neutrality and of introducing the new “FIFA Peace Award” without consulting other members of the organization.

It is reported that if the organization's complaint is upheld, Infantino will be suspended from his duties as FIFA president indefinitely.

FairSquare has also requested that FIFA clarify on what grounds Infantino awarded the Peace Award to Trump, suggesting that the FIFA president is seeking to establish diplomatic ties with the White House, which could be seen as an act of corruption.

Reminder: Donald Trump receives FIFA’s first-ever peace award
