Details: According to Sky Sports, the hearing for Paqueta's case will begin this month and is expected to last three weeks. The English Football Association is demanding a lifetime ban for the Brazilian.
It is noted that Paqueta allegedly intentionally received yellow cards in matches against Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds, and Bournemouth since November 2022.
Additionally, the midfielder is accused of two instances of failing to comply with investigation requirements. If found guilty, he faces a lifetime ban from football.
Reminder: A separate investigation is being conducted by the Brazilian parliament concerning match-fixing and betting manipulation. One of the accused is William Rogatto, who allegedly earned $52 million from rigged matches in Brazil, according to the investigation.
