Facing jail time. Karachi Kings captain David Warner arrested in Sydney for drunk driving
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been rocked by a major scandal. Karachi Kings skipper, legendary Australian batter David Warner, was arrested in Sydney on charges of driving under the influence.
Details: According to News 18, the incident took place on the evening of Sunday, April 5, in the Maroubra area. New South Wales Police reported that 39-year-old Warner drew the attention of patrol officers while attempting to park just short of a mobile sobriety checkpoint. A subsequent test at the police station revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.104, more than twice the legal limit.
Warner was in Australia on a short-term leave granted by the club so he could spend time with his family between matches. Now, his return to Pakistan is under serious doubt. The Sydney court has scheduled a hearing on the case for May 7, 2026.
Although there are currently no formal travel restrictions, the incident has dealt a huge blow to the league and the club's reputation.
