Details: According to ESPN Argentina, the striker is planning to meet with Diego Simeone and Atlético representatives face to face, to make it clear that he wants to leave the team.
The Argentine forward is expected to return to the Madrid club on August 10. After that, he intends to make his position on his future crystal clear.
At the moment, there’s no word on how Simeone or the Atlético board will react to such a statement, or whether the club will agree to discuss a possible transfer of their star player.
It’s worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, Julián Álvarez played 49 matches for Atlético in all competitions, netted 20 goals and provided 9 assists. At the 2026 World Cup, the forward featured in all eight matches for Argentina, scoring once—in the quarterfinal against Switzerland.
