Fabrizio Romano Denies Reports of Andres Iniesta Joining Morocco as Technical Director
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided fresh clarification regarding reports linking Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta with a role in the Moroccan national team setup.
The rumours surfaced shortly after Walid Regragui stepped down as Morocco’s head coach, with several outlets suggesting that Iniesta had already agreed to take up a technical role with the Atlas Lions.
However, Romano has explained that no agreement has been finalised yet, although discussions are ongoing between the Moroccan Football Federation and Iniesta.
According to the renowned transfer journalist, the federation is interested in appointing the former midfielder to the position, but the deal has not been completed.
“Despite reports, nothing signed or official yet between Andrés Iniesta and Morocco to become the new technical director,” Romano wrote on X.
“Talks are taking place, Moroccan Federation want Iniesta as director but not a done deal yet. Decision up to Andrés.”
