F1 driver Franco Colapinto opens up about past romance with Mauro Icardi’s current girlfriend

Williams Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto has reflected on his brief relationship with Argentine model China Suárez, speaking about it during Formula 1’s 75th-anniversary celebration in London.

Colapinto and Suárez were spotted together in Madrid in November 2024, sparking rumors and media speculation about their romance. The 21-year-old Argentine handled the attention with maturity, acknowledging how sudden fame can be overwhelming.

"Luckily, it didn’t affect me. Obviously, I’m very young, and it’s easy for people to judge when they’ve never been in this kind of situation. When you grow so quickly and suddenly go from being an 18-year-old teenager to someone people recognize, it’s difficult to manage. When you make mistakes, the most important thing is to learn from them. I see myself as an athlete, and obviously, I don’t like when people talk about my personal life instead of my sport," Colapinto stated.

Interestingly, China Suárez had previously been linked to footballer Mauro Icardi. After her brief romance with Colapinto, she rekindled her relationship with Icardi following his final split from Wanda Nara.
